The sea is my brother......

These are a few images from my Easter break. Whenever I get the opportunity I take myself somewhere by the sea to recharge my batteries, restore my energy and to reflect on my life.

I can sit endlessly by the sea and watch the ever changing sacred patterns of the sky, sand and sea before me.

There is nowhere else on this earth I am to be.

It's Zoo Time!

A lot of inspirations I gather for my life and for my teachings come from the beautiful animals we share this planet with. Each animal is as unique as is each human. There is something so captivating about these animals and the way that they each have different skills that they instinctively use to survive in life .When we really look deep enough beyond the material world we also realise that we have been gifted with everything we need in life to be all that we may be.
I was fortunate enough to have recently gone on an adventure to the iconic Australia Zoo. This is a wonderful Zoo with beautiful open spaces for the animals to be. I thought I would share with you just a few happy snaps from that day that was.
umm did someone say too cute?

I got to feed Sabu some Zucchini :-) I LOVE ELEPHANTS!
(they even had a shrine in place for the Hindu God Ganesha)

Words can not describe the beauty and power

BE CURIOUS...........

View from the office @ ourano yoga

Curiosity allows for possibilities. Curiosity allows for growth and curiosity can be just the key to awaken to a higher consciousness.
As I write this I take regular breaks to simply stare and daze off. I am staring and observing the life I see out of my office window (as per the picture above - I’m blessed with a beautiful view). The trees, the birds singing and the clouds in the sky all make me curious. Why does one tree not look like another?  Why are some flowers blossoming and others are not? I could be here for ever asking a million questions and be doing it continually for a very long time.  But there is a strong presence beyond my human body and beyond my mind that makes me completely relaxed and at peace with every question I pose and to the answers that I seek. This presence makes me understand in no direct way that everything around me is life. Everything has a purpose whether it is clear to me or not. Everything has true meaning. We have all been placed here in complete harmony. Whether we maintain that harmony and balance is up to us.
We are all beautiful unique expressions of life and I believe by me simply having the ability to look around and be curious it brings me into this complete present moment. It is in these moments when I take myself out of my daily routine that puts my life into perspective. Sometimes we honestly need those daily reminders to help us acknowledge that indeed there is more to us than our to do lists. “Curiosity validates our existence. To be curious is to be optimistic.” As quoted by Patrick Lindsay.
Take moment’s every day to look around. Observe, marvel and appreciate all of life around you as well as within you with complete trust that everything is exactly as it’s meant to be.

FINDING YOUR OWN RHYTHM

In days and years where our life seems to flash before us we must find our own natural rhythm to keep balance and harmony within us and around us.
When we push, go, reach, grab and strive to keep moving forward in life we rarely enjoy the journey but if we take each moment, experience and opportunity as it comes and flow with our own natural rhythm at our own natural pace we understand that the journey is life.
One of the greatest examples of a natural rhythm is right out your door…Nature! Nature is constantly flowing in its own natural rhythm. The waves roll in and out. The tides come in and then the tides go out. The leaves on the trees rustle gently in the breeze. The sun rises and the sun sets. Nature flows within its own natural rhythm which is something we love and admire.
There is a reason that we often look outside the window to reflect. There is a reason why people often go to the beach to relax…
It is in these surroundings where everything is in harmony and balance flowing at its own natural pace that we discover peace and calm. Nature does not supply us with peace and calm; nature is simply reflecting what is idle within us, our true essence beyond name and form.
Sometimes we lose balance and ignore our own natural rhythm and when this happens everything around us becomes un- balanced. It all starts with you. A fast paced life may be right for someone else but it may not be right for you. Take the time to still the mind and go within - listen, observe and feel without attachment. Everything about the experience of finding your own rhythm needs to be simple. Rest when you must, play when you wish and be who you are without defending or justifying why you choose to live the way you do.
Flow to your own rhythm not to the rhythm of those around you.
